Offering a vintage Italian press photograph showing racing legend Juan Manuel Fangio on vacation in Rapallo Italy shortly after his retirement from Formula One racing 

Approximate translation of the Italian language caption: This year’s summer rest takes on a special significance for Fangio and his admirers all over the world. It is in these very days, in fact, that the great champion has decided to retire definitively from racing. After 25 years of happy marriage, Mrs. Fangio can finally enjoy a well-deserved peaceful life alongside her husband.

The place chosen by the couple for their new “honeymoon” is Rapallo. Here Manuel plays scopa (a traditional Italian card game) with admirers, takes long trips by motorboat, and cruises aboard the “Mercedes 300 SL,” gifted to him by the Stuttgart company for having led the great German marque to victory in past years.

Condition: This photo has small bends / wear to some corners and some other light wear. Caption label glued to back has a bend. Overall, still a very nice vintage photograph.
