Press Photo Photograph Aviation Aircraft Speed Record 1932 G.H. Stainforth

Offering a vintage press photograph captioned as showing US Senator Hiram Bingham presenting an aviation award - the L.S. Thompson Speed Trophy - to Sir Ronald Lindsay, British Ambassador to the USA. The award was in recognition of Lieutenant G.H. Stainforth of the Royal Air Force setting an aircraft speed record. Underwood and Underwood press photograph dated 1932. Great image!  

Sold as-found and I do not have any additional information on the age or history of this photo. Identifications of subjects are to the best of my ability but are not certain - please view images carefully before purchase. 

Measures approximately 8" by 10" excluding caption sheet. 

Condition: This photo has bends / wear to corners, some surface wrinkling, staining and other wear. Caption sheet has some tears / torn sections on the back where it is attached to the photo. Photo image has some brown toning. Overall, still a very nice vintage photograph.
