Press Photo Photograph Death Penalty Protest Prisoners Relief Society Head 1925

Offering a vintage press photograph showing the head of the Prisoners Relief Society. Caption sheet is heavily faded and difficult to read in some parts. However, it appears that this man was protesting the dealth penalty and offering to die by electric chair if it would mean an end to executions. Underwood and Underwood press photograph dated 1925. Great piece!

Condition: This photo has been hand painted around the man's face, which was sometimes done to old press photographs to highlight figures when publishing the image. The photo has a large torn off section on the lower left corner and multiple tears and bends around the edges and corners. There is staining on both sides and the caption sheet is heavily faded and difficult to read. Caption sheet is also wrinkled from the adhesive used and there are pencil notations on the back. Overall, still a great vintage photograph despite the damage.
