Offering a vintage press photograph showing Joseph Shannon, Missouri Republican politician. Interesting caption sheet indicates that Shannon was investigating ways in which the government was unfairly competing with private business when he found a Washington Post exchange offering extracts to make synthetic gin and other forbidden beverages. He's shown in the photo with the extracts. Underwood and Underwood press photograph dated 1933. Great piece!

Measures approximately 6 1/2" by 8 1/2" excluding caption sheet

Condition: The caption sheet has previously stuck to the photo and separated, resulting in a hold at the upper part of the caption sheet and some paper residue on the actual photo. The hole does affect some text but overall caption is readable. There is some additional light corner and surface wear. Pencil notations and light staining on the back. Overall, still a very nice vintage photograph.
