Offering a vintage press photograph showing a portrait of diplomat Sumner B Wells posed with a cigarette. Caption sheet describes how Welles was expected to be assigned a diplomatic post. Underwood and Underwood press photograph dated 1933. Great image!

Measures approximately 7" by 10" excluding caption sheet.

Condition: This photo has ink transfer on the front of the Underwood press stamp (likely from another photo with a wet stamp being placed on top originally). There is a bend on the upper left corner and some other surface and corner wear. Caption sheet has a rough lower edge with some creasing / bends. Pencil notation on the back. Overall, still a very nice vintage photograph.
